Rilasciata nuova versione di Joomla, siamo alla 1.5.9

Joomla è un famoso CMS ( Content Management System ) Open Source, ci permette di creare un sito web in pochi minuti. Ci basta avere soltanto un server ( o un normale PC ) con un supporto per il PHP e MySql ( dbms per l'archiviazione di tutti i dati ).

Il 10 gennaio è stata rilasciata la nuova versione 1.5.9 in lingua inglese, lo stesso giorno il team di traduzione si è dato da fare ed ha reso disponibile la versione in lingua italiana, potete scaricarla tranquillamente da qua. Questa nuova versione risolve alcuni bug di sicurezza, che sono da sempre il tallone d'Achille di questi sistemi (( da ricordare il famoso exploit della versione 1.5.5 che permetteva ad un utente qualsiasi di resettare la password di admin e poterla cambiare a proprio piacimento, entrando in seguito nell'area di back-end ( parte di amministrazione ), con la possibilità di causare danni seri)), e alcuni bug minori.
Se siete curiosi potete provarla in localhost, cioè sul proprio PC in locale, tramite xampp ( apache-mysql-php-perl. Io lo ho provato da un pezzo, e ci ho lavorato un pochino ma personalmente non mi attira molto come CMS, comunque nonostante la mia opinione Joomla! resta un ottimo software per un utente con conoscenze limitate.

Security

One low-level and one high-level security issue were fixed in this release:

  • High Priority: Directory Traversal. A crafted request can allow an attacker to view directory trees on the server. Note: contents of files cannot be edited or deleted, just viewed. More information »
  • Low Priority: SSL Session Token Disclosure. When running a site as SSL ONLY, if a non-SSL request is made, an attacker can obtain the session token. There is NO risk for Web sites that use both HTTP and HTTPS. More information »
